Rain altered Thursday and Friday's action, with the weekend shifting to a Saturday and Sunday doubleheader.
On Saturday evening a staggering field of 87 drivers registered for competition. After qualifying sixth fastest in time trials he earned the pole position for his heat race.
Unfortunately, Chase slid backwards to a seventh-place finish in the heat race, which relegated him to the 12th-starting spot for a B-Main. He managed to advance to a sixth-place finish, but with only the Top-3 finishers transferring to the $10,000-to-win feature, Holland's night ended early.
Sunday found a $5,000-to-win program taking center stage at the Texas oval, and Chase qualified fastest in his group. Starting sixth in his heat race, he finished eighth.
For the second-straight night Chase found himself mired deep in a B-Main grid. Charging from 10th to fifth he once again fell short of qualifying for the feature as his weekend drew to an early end.
