When not competing with the USMTS, Chase plans to enter select high-profile events across the country this season.
Chase Holland was last in action on March 30 – April 1 with a Louisiana invasion. The 10th annual Cajun Clash tripleheader weekend opened on Thursday with the Summit Equipment United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).
Fifty-nine entries crowded the pits at the racy oval. After qualifying fifth fastest in his group, Chase charged to the victory in his heat race.
Lining up ninth for the main event, Holland raced past four competitors to cross the finish line in fifth behind Cade Dillard, Jim Chisholm, Dereck Ramirez, Darron Fuqua.
Friday night found Chase enjoying another fast start to the night with a heat race win to lock into the ninth-starting spot for the 40-lap feature. Battling adversity throughout the main event, Holland ultimately backed up to an 18th-place finish.
The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night. Chase set the sixth-fastest time in his group in qualifying before winning his heat race, which positioned him 10th on the feature grid.
Unfortunately, Holland relinquished the eighth position on the 26th circuit with mechanical issues. He rejoined the tail of the field and rebounded to finish 21st in the $10,000-to-win affair.
Full weekend results are available at www.USMTS.com.
Next on tap for the team is a trip to 81 Speedway (Wichita, Kan.) on April 20-22 for the inaugural Ed Gressel Memorial with the Summit USMTS Modifieds.
