Holland competes in 4 days of action with USMTS in Minnesota and Iowa
Chase Holland and his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Modified team hit the Midwest over the Memorial Day holiday to take part in a four-race swing with the Summit United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).
On Thursday, the three-day Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge kicked off at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota), where Holland was one of 46 drivers entered. The Success, Mississippi, pilot finished second in his heat and claimed a fifth-place starting position for the 30-lap A-Main paying $3,000 to win. He ultimately finished 25th.
Friday and Saturday night’s programs each brought 52 USMTS Modifieds to the 3/8-mile speed plant.
On Friday, Holland finished eighth in his heat and 12th in his B-Main, but an emergency provisional put him in the 40-lap main event. He started 27th and moved forward four spots to finish 23rd in the $5,000-to-win race.
For Saturday’s $10,000-to-win finale, Holland ended up seventh in his heat and 10th in his B-Main, meaning he was unable to transfer to the 50-lap feature.
The USMTS schedule then shifted to the 3/8-mile Fayette County Speedway (West Union, Iowa) on Sunday for the $10,000-to-win War in West Union. With 27 USMTS Modifieds attempting to qualify, Holland finished sixth in his heat and transferred to the night’s 40-lap feature with a fifth-place result in his B-Main. He registered a 22nd-place finish after starting 19th.
