Chase Holland earns 3 USMTS Masters A-Main starting spots
Coming off his first A-Main victory of the season, Success, Mississippi’s Chase Holland took part in three days of racing with the Summit United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) this weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
The 24th Annual USMTS Masters got underway on Thursday evening with 45 USMTS entrants at the 3/8-mile clay oval. Holland piloted his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 car to a sixth-place finish in his heat, then used a fourth-place result in his B-Main to transfer to the opening night’s 40-lap, $3,000-to-win feature event. Holland climbed six spots from his 21st starting position to finish 15th in the A-Main.
Friday’s program again drew 45 USMTS competitors with the evening’s first-place payout increased to $5,000. After finishing fourth in his heat, Holland nabbed the last transfer spot in his “B” to make the 45-lap A-Main. He started 24th and picked up four spots to finish 20th.
As the event drew to a close on Saturday, Holland was one of 46 USMTS drivers looking to score an $11,000 first-place payday in the 50-lap finale. After a seventh-place heat-race finish and a sixth-place result in his B-Main, Holland used an emergency provisional to start 28th in the main event. He ended the evening in the 25th spot.
After the USMTS Masters, Holland sits 20th in the Summit USMTS National Championship point standings.
