Holland earns top-10 results at Mississippi Thunder and Adams County
Chase Holland had a successful trip to Wisconsin and Illinois over the weekend as the Modified driver grabbed finishes of ninth and third against tough competition.
On Friday, Holland was one of 27 United States Racing Association (USRA) Modified competitors at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) for the first night of The Great Pumpkin Races. Holland finished third in his heat on the 1/3-mile clay oval, then started the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win A-Main from the third spot. He ultimately finished ninth.
Sunday saw Holland move on to Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Illinois) to participate in the third annual Chad McCoy Memorial. He was one of 28 DIRTcar UMP Modified drivers on the property at the quarter-mile track.
Holland was second-quickest in his qualifying group and won his heat race from the pole. He started second in the 45-lap, $4,545-to-win A-Main and grabbed a third-place result, finishing behind Trevor Neville and Mike Chasteen Jr. Chris Spalding came home fourth and Rick Conoyer took the fifth spot.
