Holland earns victory at Jacksonville
Chase Holland took on three Modified shows in the Midwest on Friday through Saturday, collecting one win and a trio of top-three finishes along the way.
On Friday, Holland’s Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 ride was one of 22 Modifieds in the pit area at the quarter-mile Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois. Holland set the quickest time in his qualifying group and won his heat race from the pole. He then began the 15-lap A-Main from the second position and led every circuit, taking his 11th feature win of the season by a margin of 0.528 seconds over runner–up Rick Conoyer. Ken Schrader, Tim Luttrell and Dave Wietholder completed the top five.
The next night, Holland and his team moved on to Winston, Missouri’s I-35 Speedway to take part in a 14-car USRA Modified program at the 3/8-mile track. Holland advanced from fourth to first in his heat and both started and finished second in the 20-lap A-Main. Tyler Hibner took the win by 5.969 seconds, with Lee Hibner completing the podium with a third-place result behind Holland. Matt Johnson finished fourth and Houston Johnson claimed the fifth spot.
Finally, Holland returned to the Land of Lincoln on Sunday evening to race at Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Illinois. In a field of 17 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, Holland turned in the best time during hot laps and qualifying on the quarter-mile oval. He went on to win his heat race and start the 20-lap feature from the pole. After leading the first 15 circuits, Holland turned in a third-place result in the A-Main as he followed Trevor Neville and Dave Weitholder under the checkered flag. Austin Becerra and Jacob Rexing finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Full weekend results are at Jacksonville Speedway, I-35 Speedway and Adams County Speedway.
