Trio of victories for Holland to celebrate Independence Day
The wins kept coming for Chase Holland during Fourth of July week. The Mississippi driver captured three checkered flags from Wednesday through Saturday, bringing his victory total to 18 on the season.
On Wednesday, Holland entered his Apex Fab & Equipment No. 45 Crate Late Model at the 3/8-mile Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. He qualified third for the 20-lap feature and took over the lead on the fourth circuit. He showed the way for the remainder of the race and scored the victory by 1.216 seconds over Josh Parkerson. David Williamson, Bailey Callahan and Cam Harris completed the top five.
Holland and his team planned to race at Meridian, Mississippi’s Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday, but when that event was rained out, they headed instead to Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Alabama. Holland raced both his Modified and Crate Late Model in the night’s program at the 3/8-mile track.
He qualified second for the 15-lap Modified A-Main and grabbed the lead on lap four. He led the final 11 circuits and crossed the start-finish line 2.765 seconds in front of Nicholas Sellier. Hunter Breland, Justin Thomas and Jacob Gergory rounded out the top-five finishers.
In the Crate Late Model ranks, Holland started third in the feature and claimed the top spot on the 14th lap of the 20-lap race. He went on to take the checkered flag with a 0.695-second margin of victory over Taylor Jarvis. James Gilmore completed the podium, while Todd Jones and Joey Moxley finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Holland’s three wins in the past week mean he has won seven feature events in a row.
