Holland extends Crate Late Model top-5 streak at Jackson

Chase Holland brought his string of consecutive top-five finishes in the Crate Late Model ranks to six on Saturday after a tough battle at Jackson Motor Speedway.

To open the evening at the 1/3-mile track in Byram, Mississippi, Holland qualified his PPM Racing Products No. 45 car third quickest out of 18 entrants. He then won his heat race and started the 20-lap feature from the pole.

After falling to third early in the main event, Holland put himself in position to challenge for the lead near the midway point. However, he spun as he attempted to make a pass for the top spot. That put him deep in the field, but he charged forward over the final 10 circuits and finished fourth behind David Williamson, Tyler D. Hudson and Ben Davis. Jason Henry completed the top five.
